Spring in the Civic Center

Fleeting spring blossoms, hidden in plain sight during those rainy days, are just about spent.

The best thing about having a civic center in an orchard is that anytime you go to the library or check in at City Hall, you are reminded of the rhythms of the orchards.

For those of us who grew up in the valley when apricot sheds were a common sight and fields of mustard flanked the rows of trees, the sight somehow gladdens the  heart.

The mustard is going to seed, and the blooms have just about all blown off, but we wanted to leave you with a few images of the fleeting season in what was once a valley full of blossoms in the spring.
