Popular Foothill Instructor Gave Talk Before Concert
Andrew Fraknoi will present "Transits of Venus and Other Worlds" before world premiere of astronomy-inspired composition.

Composer Nancy Bloomer Deussen watched live images of Venus crossing the face of the Sun at NASA’s Ames Research Center in June 2012. She found the event so inspiring that she composed “The Transit of Venus.”
The world premiere of that new work was held last Saturday, Sept. 21, at Le Petit Trianon Theater in San Jose.
Prior to the performance, astronomer Andrew Fraknoi of Foothill College gave a brief talk on “Transits of Venus and Other Worlds.”
