Halloween HQ at the Costume Bank

From witches to flapper girls, there's a look for every impulse.

Each week Los Altos Patch will feature different boutiques in the endless hunt for the best finds. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it. From sales to trends, and just about everything in between, you will find the best of Los Altos right here.

Get your candy bags ready and your legs prepared, because Halloween is just around the corner. Our find of the week is the newly opened Halloween Headquarters, where you can find the best costumes and accessories for you and your kids' Halloween looks.

This may not be your idea of a boutique, but if you have kids to outfit for the holiday, the shopping experience here is much more fun than scanning the shelves at your local drugstore.

Each year, Halloween stores pop up in vacant buildings to fill the town with Halloween spirit and, of course, with a lot of great costumes. This year, The Costume Bank, in the heart of downtown at 169 State St., has become Halloween Headquarters for the month of October.

Los Altans will find traditional costumes, such as pumpkins, witches and scary creatures. And for the creative kids who want to create their own, there are great wigs, makeup and other accessories. This shop also offers a very organized collection of costumes from each decade, a selection of uniforms and great classic outfits. such a Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Want to put together a flapper girl look? It's here.
