Grab & Go Kids Planner: 'Tangled,' 'Pinocchio' and Citrus Cooking

Celebrate the conclusion of the Drive-Less Challenge, let your kids learn how to cook with citrus, catch a 'Tangled,' or 'Pinocchio' and think about auditioning for "Little Women" at the Los Altos Youth Theater.

Where/When: , 397 Main St. Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate with your family the success of the Drive-Less Challenge...and know that all those fewer trips in a car by individuals, together, made a difference. This is a nice way to end the challenge with a family-friendly party.

Why Go: Here's another opportunity for your kids to get some hands-on cooking insights, and you reap the benefits when they come home and cook something for you. This week, the focus is on citrus. After two hours here, students will know how to make citrus pasta salad, five-spice citrus meatballs and orange-chocolate mousse. Yum! Class is open to kids age 4 to 14.

Where/When: , 500 Castro St, Mountain View, Saturday, 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m. 6:30 p.m. 

Why Go: We all know the delightful tale of the puppet Pinocchio and his "papa," the toymaker Gepetto. Know you can see it come to life in more ways than one in this musical tale of the puppet-boy put on by Peninsula Youth Theater. It's won't be fun just for your kids, it will be fun for you, too! Trust us

Where/When: , 13 S San Antonio Rd. Saturday, 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. 

Why Go: Saturday's movie is "Tangled," the tale of Rapunzel and her bandit friend, Flynn Rider. If you haven't seen this Disney film with the new Rapunzel twist, this is a great opportunity to go to the movies with your child. If you've seen it already, you know well enough that these kinds of films are made to see again and again.

Where/When: , 97 Hillview Ave. Thursday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

Why Go:  If you child is theatrically inclined and is interested in being in a play this summer, they can try out for the Los Altos Youth Theatre production of "Little Women." After the auditions Thursday and Saturday, call backs will be May 17.

Pricing: No fee to audition, if accepted to be in the play, the cost for the summer theater course is $265 for Los Altos residents, $283 for non-residents.
