Get Out, Los Altos: A Double-Feature, Three, Count 'Em, Three Concerts, and... Cars!

And we're not talking about Lightning McQueen, Cars 2 fans.

There's some unique opportunities in the next 72 hours, all close at hand, so get ready to head out the door in ... well, very soon.

The next few days mark the last chance to see exhibit about Frank and Josephine  Duveneck who brought us the treasure of Hidden Villa, see a musical put on by an alumni cast at the Mountain View High School, and look at classic and exotic cars for a good cause.

Where/When: , 97 Hillview Ave, and Los Altos History Museum, 51 S. San Antonio Road, Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: Visitors can watch two videos about the Duvenecks at the Bus Barn Stage Company theater. Memories of Josephine and Frank, is a new set of testimonials from some of the people whose lives the Duvenecks touched. The second video, The Duvenecks of Hidden Villa, offers additional insight into life at Hidden Villa. To make this even more of an event, The Los Altos History Museum, featuring the exhibit Touching Lives: The Duvenecks of Hidden Villa, will be open for extended hours from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will offer light refreshments. Visitors can cross the parking lot to the watch Duveneck videos at the Bus Barn Theater at 7:30. A reminder that this is the last weekend the Duvenick exhibit at the museum will be open. It closes Sunday.

Where/When: , Steven Creek Blvd & Mary Ave, Cupertino / Thursday, June 23 6:30-8 p.m.

Why Go: There's no Thursday concert on June 23 in Los Altos this week, so why not hop over to neighboring Cupertino for a little rock 'n'roll at Memorial Park. For South Los Altans, Cupertino is like being with family. Lots of friendly lawn and a laid-back vibe. (Los Altos' free concert this week will be on Saturday with Peninsula Symphony playing pops.)

Where/When: 3535 Truman Ave.; Friday, Saturday, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. 

Why Go: The roster of performers is made up of alumni of  The Music School and Mountain View High School Choir. Have an evening of pure joy as you listen to the music and watch the show from some of our favorite performers. Jill Denny directs. 

Pricing:  $15 adults; $10 kids

Where/When: Where: , soccer field, 97 Hillview Ave, Saturday, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go:  It's summer, which makes it perfect for an outdoor concert. This second in the summer "Tunes Under the Trees" series you have the chance to listen to the Peninsula Symphony and its program of classical standards and Broadway hits.  And, of course, you may see your neighbors playing in this all volunteer professional orchestra.

Where/When: , 400 University Ave., Sunday, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. 

Why Go: What a treat! The second free outdoor concert is this weekend. Ye Olde Towne Band of Los Altos presents music ranging from rousing marches to popular musicals. And you can enjoy a picnic lunch at the same time.

Where/When:  Sand Hill Road Athletic Field at the corner Sand Hill Road and Pasteur Drive, 450 Serra Mall, Stanford, CA 94305, Sunday, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Palo Alto Lions Club Charities has raised nearly $1.5 million over the years with this community event that appeals to the classic car aficionado in many of us. For those who would like to make a week-end of it, there is The Drive and lunch on Saturday, a buffet dinner and auction Saturday night.

Pricing: Tickets to Sunday's event for adults are $25. Children under the age of 12 are admitted free when accompanied by parent or guardian, students with student body card pay only $10. Buy discount tickets online for $20 prior to the event at the website.
