Community Build of Watershed Sculpture

Artist Daniel McCormick is restoring a creek bank using willow and other natural materials to create a living sculpture, and he's asking for the community's help. The project will help protect a 25-foot length of Adobe Creek where an invasive plant was removed last year, leaving the streambank bare. Branches will eventually take root and grow to provide habitat and stabilize the streambank.

Volunteers will help with tasks such as cutting/trimming branches, hauling branches and other materials, and tying/securing materials to the creek bank. Two shifts are offered each day: a 9:30am-12:00pm shift and a 1:00pm-4:00pm shift.

Youth under 14 require an accompanying adult. All minors under 18 require a signed waiver. Please bring a reusable water bottle, a sack lunch and dress for outdoor work. There is no parking in the park.
