Easter 'Biscuit' Hunt Draws 200 Hoppin' Hounds

A biscuit hunt drew dogs (and their owners) to the grassy Byrne Preserve for a fundraiser benefiting the Palo Alto Animal Services and Shelter.

About 200 dogs joined in the Easter Biscuit Hunt hosted at the Byrne Preserve on Saturday. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the , and visitors were seen contributing more than the suggested donation of five bucks.

"They're a part of the community.  A lot of people from Los Altos adopt dogs from the pet shelter," says Rebecca Hickman of the Los Altos Parks and Recreation.

Between $700 - $14,000 have been raised at every biscuit hunt for the past eight years.  During that time, has donated an estimated 7,000 treats.  in Palo Alto is another contributor of dog treats this year.
