Your Time: Swiss Family Robinson, A Little House Luau and More

A local movie treat, the Farmers Market, and a annual BBQ are all lined up this week in Los Altos.

Why Go: Bring one friend or a few to the fun-filled evening of dinner, dancing and entertainment. Chow down on yummy teriyaki steak cubes and Kahlua Pig during dinner, then dance the night away -- all benefiting a great cause.

Why Go: The PDC is the largest Democratic Club in Santa Clara County. Remember to wear blue and join fellow Democrats, including many area elected officials, for an summer evening of socializing, food at Shoup Park in Los Altos.

Where/When: 223 Twin Dolphin Dr, Redwood City, CA 94065, Thursday, 4 pm to 9 pm. 

Why Go: Admission to the the third annual Liquid Chef Cocktail competition includes four drinks to sample cocktails from four participating restaurants and bars in the area. Participants will also gain a vote in the competition with their paid admission ticket. Come out and sample what drink masters of the Bay Area have up their sleeves this year.

Why Go: This week's feature is "Swiss Family Robinson", the 1960 Disney classic tale about a family shipwrecked on a desert island. If you think the tree house at Disneyland is fun, the action-packed adventure film that inspired the park feature will surely keep you and the family entertained from start to finish.

Where/When: State St and 2nd St, Los Altos, Thursday, 4 pm to 8 pm. 

Why Go: Bakery treats, fresh cut flowers and locally grown fresh fruit are just a small sample of the items to be had at the open air market held all summer long in downtown Los Altos. With only a handful of weeks left to browse the unique assorement of vendors, head downtown, mingle with fellow residents and pick up a few fun buys before you head home.
