By 10 p.m., most of the Bay Area will see some drizzle, forecaster Steve Anderson said. It will start to rain in the North Bay earlier in the evening on Tuesday, with the San Francisco area seeing precipitation overnight, he said.

"Everyone is going to get a chance of rain," he said.

By Wednesday, Los Altos can expect highs will be in the mid-50s with a chance of showers and lows dropping to mid-30s.

On Bay Area peaks of 3,000 feet and above, a light dusting of snow is possible as temperatures plummet overnight.

On Wednesday, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms and light rain is forecast throughout the region.

By the weekend it will warm up, with highs in the mid- to upper 60s, and no rain expected, Anderson said.

"It will be a great weekend," he said.

Anderson said a several-day stretch of damp, cold weather is typical for this time of year.

"It may feel colder because we haven't had any true winter" weather recently, he said.
