ViewFinder: Cooking with Suparvadee Vigil in Los Altos

Suparvadee Vigil, chef at Bon Appetit at Google, teaches locals how to make Thai food at Whole Foods.

Culture Kitchen of San Francisco has teamed up with to bring cooking classes around the bay. On Wednesday, August 3, Suparvadee Vigil came to Whole Foods in Los Altos to teach locals how to make Thai food. Vigil helped students prepare Chicken Pad Thai, Pumpkin Red Curry and Sticky Rice and Mango. Most of the ingredients for these meals can be found within Whole Foods (of course).

Suparvadee Vigil greeted every student with a warm smile and asked "Do you like Thai food?" She radiates comfort and makes every meal feel like a home-cooked one. Vigil left Bangkok in 1999 after working as a banker, now, she is a chef at Bon Appetit at Google.

Culture Kitchen SF is planning on giving classes every week around the bay. They find their chefs through a close network of other cooks and the Women's Initiative in San Jose, said Abby Sturges of Culture Kitchen.
