Community Corner

ViewFinder: Chefs Who Care at Ristorante Il Porcino

Community Services Agency's program goes to this State Street restaurant for the first time.

For two days one week,  participated in Chefs Who Care—a program in which restaurants donate half their profits to the Community Services Agency, which has provided social services for residents of Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills for 50 years.

Chefs Who Cares rotates restaurants every month, and this was the first time at Ristorante Il Bistro, at 242 State St. Organizers say the program attracts 200-300 people who participate each month by dining at the restaurants. On average, the donations add up to $3,000 for the agency.

The Community Services Agency is always looking for new restaurants to participate in this program. Past participants include Ristorante Don Giovanni, Beausejour, JW Catering, Vive Sol and Michael's at Shoreline.
