Saturday Creek Clean Up Near Heritage Oaks Park Part of a National River Day

Many hope that river clean-ups will become a harbinger of summer's coming, the way beach clean-ups have become an end-of-the-summer rite

Don't be alarmed if you hear voices coming from Permanente Creek near . Roll up your sleeves and join 'em.

Saturday is the 20th anniversary National River Cleanup and Greentown Los Altos is spearheading a clean up of the diversion channel of Permanente Creek in south Los Altos.

Some see the national river cleanup as the harbinger of summer, the way the national beach cleanup signals the end of the summer.
