Revitalization Expert to Speak in Los Altos

As part of its ongoing "Community Conversation" lecture program, Fred Kent will discuss the concept of building communities around public spaces.

Fred Kent, a leading authority on revitalizing city spaces who is associated with Project for Public Spaces (PPS), will be keynote speaker at the next “Community Conversation” program sponsored by Los Altos Forward on Monday, Jan. 27.

Kent’s lecture “What Makes a Great Place?” focuses on Placemaking, the idea of building communities around places using planning, design, management and programming of public places.

The 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. program will be in the Social Hall at Hillview Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave. Admission is free, but reservations are needed and can be made by visiting the group’s Eventbrite reservation page.

Los Altos Forward is a volunteer organization that aims to promote community vibrancy in downtown Los Altos. Monday’s program is a project of the Los Altos Community Foundation and is sponsored by Los Altos Town Crier.
