Pro-Choice March Planned in Los Altos
Among the speakers at the Jan. 22 event will be Liz Kniss, San Mateo County supervisor and Dr. Sylvia Yen from Mountain View's Center for Adolescent Health.
A Pro-Choice March and speaker’s program marking the 41st anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 starting at the Los Altos Youth Center, 1 San Antonio St.
The event is sponsored by the Los Altos/Mountain View branch of the
American Association of University Women and by the Santa Clara County Pro-Choice Community.
The march will be preceded by a program featuring Dr. Sylvia Yen from Mountain View’s Center for Adolescent Health; Dr. Ellen Shaffer, reproductive health specialist; and Liz Kniss, San Mateo County supervisor. A performance by the Raging Grannies is also planned.

After the speakers finish, participants will march together into downtown Los Altos, going up State Street, across First Street, and back down Main Street and returning to the Youth Center. Men and children are encouraged to participate.
Participants are encouraged to bring signs; some will be provided by event organizers. A donation of $2 is requested to help defray costs.
