Mountain Lion Sighting Reported in Woodside

A mountain lion sighting was reported in Woodside this morning, according to San Mateo County emergency officials.

The cat was spotted at about 9 a.m. in the vicinity of the 100 block of Phillip Road, emergency officials said.

Residents who encounter a mountain lion are advised to not approach the animal, especially one that is feeding or with offspring. Most mountain lions will try to avoid confrontation. It's also a good idea to avoid jogging when mountain lions are most active, including at dawn, dusk and at night.
