'Friends of Los Altos' Elects Jerry Moison To Board of Directors

Friends of Los Altos, Inc. announced today that Jerry Moison has been elected to its Board of Directors.

Jerry previously served as an Advisor to the non-profit, non-partisan, volunteer-run organization comprised of City of Los Altos residents.

Jerry Moison has lived in the historic Loyola Corners area of Los Altos for nearly 35 years. He came to California in 1970, settled in Marin County, and eventually started a successful computer service business in San Francisco.

In 1980, Jerry sold his interest in the business, moved to Los Altos, and switched to selling commercial real estate for what is now CB Richard Ellis, formerly Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate in San Jose.

In 1987, he left CB and with his twin brother Bill founded Moison Investment Company, specializing in apartment building sales. In 1999, the brothers founded a new company, Guardian Equity Growth, and forged partnerships to purchase commercial real estate in the western United States. Their office is located on Second Street in downtown Los Altos in a two-story building owned by the Moisons.

Jerry is President-elect of the Rotary Club of Los Altos and serves on its Board of Directors. He is also the immediate past Chair of the Los Altos Planning & Transportation Commission.

In addition, Jerry has served as Secretary of the Board of Directors of City Team Ministries for over 20 years.

“I’m delighted to welcome Jerry Moison to the Friends of Los Altos Board of Directors,” stated Board President David Casas. “His perspective as a long-term resident, downtown business and property owner, and commercial real estate developer will add significant value as the organization continues to gain momentum.”

Founded in 2013, Friends of Los Altos was created to ensure that issues of critical importance and decisions with long-lasting impact reflect the values of the broader community of Los Altans. The organization is committed to a balanced, unbiased, fact-based approach focused on continuing fiscal responsibility.
