Families Flock to Hidden Villa for Duveneck Day

Hidden Villa does it up big in fete honoring its founders Frank and Josephine, for first-ever Duveneck Day.

Hidden Villa celebrated its founders, the Duvenecks, by hosting a day of activities and crafts, aimed at building community.

Families came as far as Scotts Valley and Santa Cruz to partake in the activities. Families could tour the various barns to visit the animals or see the vegetation. Blowing bubbles and making bracelets were just some of the activities the families could do. The World Harmony Chorus sang songs outside the Duveneck Home to families.

The farm-wide celebration incorporated different aspects of Frank and Josephine’s lives. Guests visited the animal pens and tour the historic 81-year-old Duveneck House.  There were Plein Air painters, blacksmiths at work, heritage crafts, and old-fashioned games. There were pony rides and an afternoon barn dance with the County Line Pickers and caller, Andy Wilson.
