Lenore Skenazy, author of Free Range Kids, will give her first Bay Area talk at The Third Place in Los Altos on March 24th. When Lenore's son was 9 years old he wanted to ride the New York subway by himself—and she let him. This event shocked and outraged many parents and she was quickly dubbed "America's Worst Mom". Little did she know that at the same time she shocked so many, she also inspired a sub-culture of parents, teachers and community leaders, who cheered her on and formed a new term "free range kids."
