A Celebration of Earth Day in Los Altos Hills

An Earth Day event presents ways to go green, while building environmental and animal awareness.

Businesses from Green Waste Recovery to Botanic Organic gathered to present information on how to go green and build animal awareness today at the  in Los Altos Hills.

Local organizations from "Say Hi" to the Westwind 4-H Riding for the Handicapped had booths and local Los Altos Hills family wineries were represented at the Earth Day celebration. The Bay Area Amphibian and Reptile Society let creatures crawl through attendees' hands and on the ground.  The Wild Cat Education and Conservation Fund dazzled their audience with felines of different shapes and sizes.

Companies in the business of sustainability and reducing carbon footprints were also present. Tesla Motors showed off their all electric sports car and other companies also popped the hoods to their cars to reveal all electric motors. But for those who prefer two wheel devices, electric bicycles and collapsing bicycles also made an appearance at the event.
