Los Altos PREPARE presents: CERT Training Classes
Be prepared! Disasters can happen at any time. When disaster strikes, city workers and all police and fire personnel will be overwhelmed for at least 72 hours. You'll be on your own. Are you prepared to care for yourself and your family and neighbors?
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training prepares participants to be responders during an emergency. Sessions include: disaster medicine, earthquake preparedness planning, damage assessment/search & rescue, disaster psychology, fire suppression, Incident Command System, and much more!
Cost to attend is only $75.00 and includes all 5 classes plus graduation exercises and a backpack with CERT gear so that graduates of the program are prepared to help our community when the next emergency strikes.
Class meets on 5 consecutive Tuesdays: October 22, 29, November 5, 12, & 19 from 6 pm to 9 pm in downtown Los Altos.

CERT is a part of a nationwide program for disaster preparedness developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and California Service Corps. Los Altos PREPARE encourage everyone to take preparedness seriously in order to minimize loss of life and property in a disaster. Los Altos PREPARE was started by the Los Altos Community Foundation because a group of citizens realized that the Los Altos community could do more to be prepared for major disasters.
