Veteran’s Day, is a federal and state holiday.  Most government offices and schools are closed. However, some government services are operational such as county transit.

Closed:

• Santa Clara County Government Offices
• Los Altos City Hall
• Los Altos Hills Town Hall
• U.S. Post Offices
• Los Altos School District
• Mountain View-Los Altos High School District
• Cupertino Union School District
• Palo Alto Unified School District 
• Fremont Union High School District
• Los Altos and Woodland libraries
• Most, if not all, banks 

Open: 

• VTA, BART and other transit (see our separate story on schedules)
• Greenwaste will operate on its usual schedule
• Mission Trail Waste System will follow its regular schedule.
• Most retail businesses
• Law enforcement for police response only (administrative offices closed)
